Funds for Empowering Villages come from revenues made by the production and sale of energy of EAP hydro power projects. In act of giving back to the communities financially, EV ensures access for the neighborhoods nearest the project to improve standard of living in rural villages.
Through creation of micro-industrial parks within EAP hydro power site, EV facilitates entrepreneurship through training in skilled trades that can lead and grow small business such as welding, carpentry, weaving and sewing. EV also works with local entrepreneurs to start cooperatives leading to 100% local ownership and create a space for future entrepreneurs to change their own community.
Empowering Villages has a large focus on the environment near EAP hydro sites and fight against soil erosion, land sliding and deforestation by planting useful species like bamboo to achieve this. EV partners with community members to build a sustainable environment while raise their economy from hand made products of such trees.
